Greetings Spirit Enthusiasts,

Welcome to Cork & Barrel's first-ever Spirit Series. During this class we will be sampling a selection of Tom's Town Distillery spirits. Tom's Town Distillery was founded by David Epstein and Steve Revare in 2015. The company is named after famous Kansas City political boss Tom Pendergast. Under Tom, Kansas City ignored Prohibition and emerged as the “Paris of the Plains”, where money, jazz, and spirits flowed. When asked how he justified ignoring Prohibition, Pendergast quipped, “The people are thirsty.” Kansas City was actually referred to as Tom's Town in 1921, due to his ever-growing political power and influence. Today, David and Steve honor Pendergast's humble beginning as a 'bar back' by crafting premium spirits right here in Kansas City. Their love for drinking and love for Kansas City is evident in the fine quality of their spirits.

Samples included in this series are the Double-Oaked Bourbon, Straight Rye Whiskey, Botanical Gin, Barrel-Aged Gin and Vodka.

Tickets for this class are $10.00 and may be purchased in-store at the 23rd St. location of Cork & Barrel. All ticket proceeds will be donated to Just Food.
